Thread the needle

We both rule our world,

We are it quilt makers.

Not of fabric and thread, though.

What we stitch is truly different,

What we sitch is pure, is gold.

There is a thread running between

The first look and the last kiss,

A strand that punctures our souls.

And in this strand once unforeseen,

Moving in wild and peaceful streams,

Reside our hopes and all our dreams.

We weave together a magic strand,

With golden needles

And scarlet thread.

Needle and thread,

I beg you, please,

Keep me together,

Keep us at ease.

Needle and thread,

That’s what we would do:

You’d woven yourself to me,

I’d sew myself to you.

  1. That is first class use of images, absolutely enchanting and inviting. I really love the simplicity of expression in parts of it. I would blow you a kiss, but it is a long way to blow, so you’ll have to make do with a smile and a heart 🙂 ❤
